Solomon's Head

Solomon’s Head (x4)
Hello hello hello
Got a black cat bone
& a sacred stone.
Got a place called home
in my heart – in my heart.
Something went wrong –
Ventricles awry, who’s got the song
for me to sing?
Why don’t you bring me Solomon’s wisdom?
Bring me his key.
Bring me Solomon,
bring me his head.
Bring me demons alive or dead.
Bring me wisdom, a light from beyond,
bring me a simple palm frond
to allay the stinking heat
of ambition’s teat.
The flies they buzz they buzz
all around the corpse:
Oh plentiful corpse,
they buzz all around.
(Play drums.)
A halo of flies for your disembodied pate –
Now convey secrets great.

Pretty Black Sun
03:03
|
|||
Even though everything is wrong,
we sing a long, a long long song.
We cast our fate to the wind.
What did we find in the sky?
Just another question why.
Staring at ourselves – gods imbued.
(Chorus:)
And in the end it didn’t matter what we knew –
what we knew.
Even though it was true.
Coming down from the height of light
into the inky black of night – it’s cold.
Oh, so cold.
Even though the rain comes down
upon this forsaken town
I cannot leave – I have forsworn my fate.
I gaze on stars suffused by death,
glowing life in every breath
– my eyes widen, & burn away.
(Chorus #2)
And in the end it didn’t matter what we knew –
what we knew.
Because it was true.
Beauty our only light
in this eternal night –
the Black Sun.
Transmutation of the gray
into pageant colors gay –
my alchemy has only just begun –
begun.
(Chorus #3)
And in the end it didn’t matter what we knew –
what we knew.
They said it wasn’t true.
Olden truths that hide in your eyes –
your soul.
Behold.

Faery Ride
02:56
|
|||
Hist whist.
Vision’s dark that come w/ dusk,
rolling in on the evening’s musk –
Moth wing hits upon the dark
as a fire lights a spark.
We will gather in –
Heap our wheat in the oatmeal bin.
Pluck the fruit of fostered sin:
Now let faery’s hold begin.
Let it in.
(Chorus)
Faery ride is a very good ride –
Faery ride is a very good ride.
Queen Mab will take you in,
give you a tiny thimble of gin –
She’ll spread the jam upon your bread
then she’ll get inside your head.
It’s in here –
Quiver in fear –
You don’t know what draws near –
it’s the rattle, it’s the rattle, the rattle of your bones!
& the faery host draws near.
I feel no sense of fear.
Elation – only elation.
(Chorus x2)
Holding hands round & round
opens pathways without bound.
Realm of faery calling me –
Close both my eyes & I can see.
Hist wist.
Got a bone, throw it in the pot –
Chew on it, crack the marrow while it’s hot –
Yeah!
(Chorus x2)
They put me in manacles of wine rather than iron.
(Chorus x4)

We all knew it was gonna come to this, huh?
Heh. I knew, I always knew it was gonna come to this.
Let me tell you about it.
You see, they take you up inside this disc –
this kind of spatial-spectral craft where
everything blends into everything else,
a – a flying saucer, you know? & these
little gray beings – but not so little, from
where you’re lying – they’re staring down
at you, backlit by blinding light
& flooding your brain with thoughts
& images, psychic like you see on TV shows,
& the whole time you’re wondering,
“Is this real? Is this really happening?”
You especially wonder when they
roll out a multi-limbed mechanical apparatus,
faces not devoid but incapable of expression,
eyes wide as dinner plates
& Bible Black, with little mouth-slits
that move but make no sound. They’re
floating you around on an anti-grav electrum slab –
you can hear everything they’re gonna do to you.
There’s an eagerness, a readiness, a thirst,
spidery fingers sampling your naked skin.
You hear the whirring as their machine starts up –
Oh, wait, I hear the whirring.
You can’t hear it, just imagine it.
After that it’s all black, black as their eyes.
& you know what? I think I prefer it that way.
Except, sometimes when I’m asleep I remember
things I wish I could wipe away on waking.
(Panting)
I need them –
My eyes
My genitals
My tongue.
(nameless chanting)
It's crazy you know
it's all coming down –
Everybody's got a mini teapot on their head
in place of a toupee.

Mr. Bear
00:58
|
|||
It was everywhere at once –
The honeypot came down on my head
& all the woodland animals came to lick meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Mr. Bear, is that your tongue?
Mr. Bear!
(Screaming)
(Roaring)

I Am the Man
03:30
|
|||
I’ve been all up
I’ve been shot down
I had a throne &
a bitch & a crown.
I was the man –
Had a big cock.
When I took it outside
I said it was my Glock.
I say – do what I want yeah:
Do what I want yeah.
I am the man
I am the one
I can’t be satisfied w/
nothing less than a gun.
I am the man
I got a truck
I’ll take some bitch down
back into the woods & fuck her.
I am the man
I am the one
I am the one who will
make you come undone.
I am the man
I am the one
I am the one who will
take your soul & make it cum.
So if all of you think
you’re safe at home –
Safe from some jackass like me –
I’ll eat your bones.
I’ll chew your skin,
I’ll eat your brain.
I don’t even care if
it makes me go insane.

Old Salty's Tune
01:54
|
|||
Salty came from
a long long line
of sailors who saw
the world’s end come.
(Chorus)
Through snow & rain
& tempest’s pain
he saw the whole world end.
Salty’s my dog:
He’s got a beard
& coal-black eyes
that’ve seen plenty weird.
Nobody knows when he dies.
Eyes & beard, but no face –
Everybody in the human race
says hey-ho, Salty’s there.
What does he do? Don’t even care.
(Chorus)
Never Salty’s journey done,
guided by a jet-black sun –
The world for a sailor ends
at every horizon.
Salty’s gonna sail right out of sight,
ship’s bell chiming against the night –
Salty never coming back.
You can’t follow in his track.
(Chorus)

Dawnlight Dervish
01:45
|
|||
The dervish spun at sunrise,
inspired by the eye of God –
He, insistent on his recherché ritual,
did gaze hourly upon the eye of God.
While revolving in place,
a circle with no center save that which is universal,
mind warded from all ill thought,
succulent winds bearing prophecy.
Ever, like a top, a cosmic top,
he, athwart all reality & divinity:
Mighty, mighty spinning substance,
matter in divine form & flight.
Gazing into the bourne of the night:
Shine –
Shine your beacon bright.

Rock n roll
Soothe my soul –
Take me down to the place below.
Black as coal –
Pay the toll.
Across Acheron you’ll go.
Play the chord –
Draw the sword.
Hew hydra heads as they grow.
Rock n roll
Soothe my soul –
Take me down to the place below.
Grinding up corpses
staring at the rain –
Everybody holding their head in pain.
Nobody knows what’s coming
on the wind –
Everyone says they’ve
killed the white hind – oh!
Something lost & subtle & true;
Something old, borrowed & blue.
Something ancient as the stars,
remedy for all earthly wars.
New skins for the oldest wine,
tritone a tine in your mind.
Rock n roll
Soothe my soul –
Take me down to the place below x4
They say the Devil is Jerry Lee.
All the Devil wanted was to go free.

We Are Pharaohs
02:37
|
|||
We are the Pharaohs of a broken land:
We came down from the barren sand.
And we were kings in ancient times:
Now all that’s left are these petty rhymes.
We Are Pharaohs
We Are Pharaohs
?
We Are Pharaohs
We Are Pharaohs
1-2-3-4 Fall under our spell.
Wowowowowow!
Get up from the dust:
Ozymandias never rusts.
Immortalized in Shelley’s verse:
For a dictator you could do worse.
We Are Pharaohs
?
We Are Pharaohs
We Are Pharaohs
2-3-4 And you’re under our spell.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
